World Blood Donor Day 2014

On June 14, 2014, the World Blood Donor Day campaigned for "Safe Blood for Saving Mothers" - a heartfelt and life-saving post-Mothers' Day tribute to the most important woman in our life.

Hundreds of women die from pregnancy or childbirth-related complications. Maternal deaths are usually caused by severe bleeding during delivery and after childbirth, which can be prevented if there is timely access to safe blood and blood products. So when Miss World-Philippines 2013 2nd Princess, Zahra Bianca Saldua invited me to be a part of this event, I said YES.

I, together with Makeup School classmate Nikki Dogma, became the campaign's Hair & Makeup Artists for their campaign shoot. It was widely supported and attended by radio, news, and tv personalities, as well as beauty queens and models alike.

Bridal Makeup for Ms. Maricel

As a makeup artist, one of the most important things I consider during weddings is building the Bride-Makeup Artist rapport. I need to communicate openly to the bride what she wants for her makeup and what I can do as her makeup artist.

Our face is one of the delicate areas in our body. Without proper care, breakouts caused by bacterial infection or skin ailments caused by fungal infection may happen. :/

Makeup, which can be used to conceal breakouts, may also be the cause of this problem. Makeup brushes that have unremoved products in them, like foundation or eyeshadow, can harbor these harmful bacteria or fungi.

* For Spot-Cleaning (like powder brushes):

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Spray the cleaner on the brush.

2. Wipe the brush (in a swirling/wiping motion) on a kitchen towel / tissue paper / small towel.

3. Voila! Let it dry for a while ( 2 mins TOPS!)

* Look at how this cleaner erases the product from my stippling brush:

 * For Deep-Cleaning (like foundation or cream-product brushes)

1. Pour about one (1) tablespoon of cleaner in a shallow container.

2. Dip brush.

3. Swirl the brush and let the makeup product be removed from the brush.

4. Wipe brush with kitchen towel and let dry for a while.

A Beautiful Summer Sunset Beach Wedding at Precious Garden Resort

It was a sunny day in April - PERFECT for a Summer Sunset Beach Wedding! <3

The venue for this lovely wedding was The Precious Garden Resort, located in Babak, Island Garden City of Samal.

It was a unique wedding because instead of a bridal car, the bride rode on a bridal speed boat! Nice, right? :D

After the love-filled ceremony, reception party followed and guests were served with unlimited sashimi and other savory dishes. :P

Guests were also treated to a fire dance and a comedy show. :D
